In a marriage the little things are the big things
— unkown

That quote is not really said by an unknown person. Its a famous quote that is recited in the form of a reading at just about every wedding. It's meant to teach a lesson about marriage to newlyweds. However it also applies to wedding planning. There are a ton of little things you can do that will have a HUGE impact on your wedding and especially your wedding photos and wedding videos.

It would be awesome if we're telling your story but, in all honesty these tips will benefit any couple regardless of your photographer or videographer.

Tip 1: Go to the light!

Always remember the light is your friend. Especially while getting ready, getting makeup done, or really anytime. This tip is great because it's free and it's something that you have 100% control over. When you first get to where you'll be getting ready, whether that is a hotel, house, or anywhere. Find the biggest window. That is where you want the action to happen! That nice beautiful soft light is going to make you look gorgeous. That goes for guys and girls. I don't care who you are... beautiful natural light is your friend.

So when your makeup artist arrives ask them to set up near the a nice window. You're photo and video team will thank you for this. It's a simple tip, but one that can take your images to the next level!

Tip 2: Dance like no one is watching!

Ok so this one really doesn't have anything to do with dancing. It's more about acting naturally. For most people having cameras pointed at them isn't the most natural thing. It's okay. it's expected. But, once you start to feel comfortable your best bet is to act like no one is watching. be yourself. You're perfect the way you are. You're beautiful, you're amazing, you're a rockstar. Forget the cameras are around. But, always remember to think happy thoughts. This is the day you've been dreaming about your whole life. Now let's be happy and celebrate as if no one was watching!

Tip 3: Time is your friend

Your wedding day is going to fly bye. Yeah, I know that's a cliche but in all seriousness weddings seem to go insanely fast, even for us! Do yourself a favor, schedule more than enough time into your day for creative moments and a killer photo shoot. If you're rushing it's going to show in your images. So schedule a little extra. This way you can relax and enjoy these moments. Remember this is the art work that's going to live on long after your wedding. Why rush it? Worst case scenario your photo + video team gets done ahead of schedule. Then you have extra time to relax and enjoy your new spouse!

So these are 3 very simple and free tips that will help you take your wedding photos and wedding videos to the next level. Be on the lookout for more awesome tips, tricks, and insights! We can't wait for your wedding!
